Step away from the John Lewis click and collect haul! It’s not too late to shop small this Christmas.
For me, the week before Christmas has tended to mean a panicked zig zag around the outer reaches of London’s shopping streets. However, with regions across the country tipping like dominos from tier 2 to 3 as the big day approaches, the crazed spree is increasingly looking to be a less appealing and practical option this year.
At this point I might usually abandon my best intentions and bung a load of items from the John Lewis gift edit into a basket for next day delivery. However, (while I definitely also don’t want to see John Lewis go under) it feels particularly important this year to support the independent businesses and brands that I want to see grow and succeed amid ever-changing, damaging and downright confusing restrictions. They deserve some love. And so, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourite businesses that are still delivering beautiful goodies for interior and design lovers in time for Christmas. Be quick!
This London boutique specialises in contemporary, affordable luxury homewares with a Scandinvian aesthetic, including covetable cushions and quilts from Projekti Tyyny, handmade ceramics, tableware and more.

This fast-growing East London-born brand don’t just do candles! Alongside their own fragrance line of candles, incense, home mists and bath and body products, there’s also carefully selected homewares and lifestyle products from the likes of HAY, Ferm Living and other small brands.

Oh, wonderful Trouva – the innovative site that lets you easily shop boutiques from across Europe from one convenient website. They’ve even compiled a helpful Ultimate Christmas Gift List that lets you filter for delivery before Christmas. Also, this the only place I found still delivering the much-coveted Lex Pott twist candle!
Pretty much everything in their Home Accessories section is gift-worthy, and all in an in vogue boho colour palette. This is the place to go for the ‘it’ vases and candles you’ve seen all over interiors Instagram.
